We’re open Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

How do I request an estimate?

You can schedule a free, in-home estimate via our website or call us at (201) 637-2684.

Do you offer a “shop-at-home” service?

Yes, we do! We can also bring floor samples right to your home so you can pick what works best in your space.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — Magnus Flooring is fully licensed and insured for both residential and commercial projects.

Do you provide a warranty?

Yes, we offer a 1-year labor warranty on our installation work. Additionally, most manufacturer warranties range from 10 years to a lifetime, depending on the product.

Do you handle subfloor issues (unevenness, damage)?

Yes — as part of our installation, we assess and correct subfloor issues to ensure a proper, long-lasting installation, as it’s the most crucial element of having long-lasting flooring.

How long does an installation typically take?

The timeline varies depending on the scope (square footage, material, prep work). We can provide an estimated duration during your consultation.

What hardwood flooring options do you install?

We install both solid hardwood and engineered hardwood in a large range of shapes, species, stains, and plank widths. We love working with parquet and designing custom patterns, chevron, or herringbone.

Do I have to move out of my home during hardwood installation and refinishing?

While it is recommended to have an empty house during the renovation process, we understand that sometimes it is not possible. Depending on the area and the finish used, many customers remain in their homes. If we are working with prefinished products, some of the heavy furniture can be moved side to side. If we work on hardwood refinishing in your home at a certain level, another level of the house can be used as a temporary living space. We can also recommend a moving company and we use non-toxic finishes like organic oils that won’t harm the health of your family.

How long does hardwood refinishing take?

It typically takes 1–5 days, but the exact time depends on the size of the working area, condition of the floors and type of finish.

Can my floors be sanded and refinished multiple times?

Yes. Depending on the thickness of your boards, you may be able to sand and refinish your floors several times.

What types of finishes do you use?

We offer water-based and oil-based polyurethane finishes, organic oil (Odie’s Oil) and commercial-grade options. Most of the materials have a choice of sheen (matte, satin, semi-gloss and high gloss).

Can I change the stain color on my hardwood when refinishing?

Yes — during refinishing, you can choose a different stain to update or refresh the look of your floors.

How do I care for refinished hardwood floors?

Sweep or dry-mop.
Use a microfiber mop for deeper cleaning.
Avoid harsh chemicals; use recommended wood floor cleaners.

What is luxury vinyl (LVP / LVT) and why choose it?

Luxury vinyl (plank or tile) offers realistic wood or stone looks, is highly durable and easy to maintain. This material is cost-effective in comparison to hardwood floors and is water-resistant and scratch-resistant. We have a very large selection of luxury vinyl flooring in our showroom. It can be used as a floating/interlocking installation or a glue-down installation.

Is luxury vinyl suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, or basements?

Yes — because vinyl is water-resistant, it's often a great choice for high-moisture areas. Also, being that this material doesn’t have wood components, it doesn’t expand or contract with moisture and humidity changes.

How does laminate flooring differ from hardwood or vinyl?

Laminate is a layered product (a photographic wood or stone image + a protective wear layer) — it's more affordable, resistant to scratches, and easier to install in some cases.

How do I clean and maintain luxury vinyl and laminate flooring?

Sweep or vacuum (without a beater bar) regularly.
Use a manufacturer-recommended cleaner.
Avoid excessive water (especially for laminate).

Do you install ceramic and porcelain tile?

Yes — we offer residential and commercial tile installation, including ceramic, porcelain and natural stone. We also work with a large-format tile. We handle tile work for stairs, backsplashes, bathrooms, and more. Ask about our past projects to get some inspiration.

Do I need to seal my tile?

It depends — some natural stone tiles need sealing; many ceramic and porcelain tiles are pre-sealed, but grouts often benefit from sealing to prevent stains.

What railing materials do you work with?

We handle a variety of railing types — wood, metal, and custom designs, depending on your style and needs. Fun fact: railings and staircases are one of our favorite things to do!

Do you install carpet on both flat surfaces and stairs?

Yes, we install carpet on floors and stairs. We also fabricate, bind and install customer stair runners and area rugs.

What types of carpet do you offer?

We work with a variety of carpet styles, including plush, loop, textured, Berber, and more.

How do I maintain my carpet after installation?

Vacuum regularly.
Have professional steam-cleaning every 12–18 months (or per manufacturer recommendations).
Attend spills promptly.

What is gym rubber flooring and why would I need it?

Our gym flooring is designed to be durable, shock absorbent, and easy to maintain — perfect for home gyms, commercial fitness spaces, or workout rooms.

Is epoxy safe for residential use?

Yes — when properly installed, epoxy is safe, long-lasting, and resistant to spills, chemicals, and wear. We provide epoxy flooring services, which are ideal for garages, basements, commercial spaces, and high-traffic areas.

Is flooring a good investment for my home?

Yes. High-quality flooring, especially hardwood, can add value, improve aesthetics, and increase the longevity of your space.

Does wood need to “acclimate” before installation?

Yes — moisture content is critical for hardwood floors. We measure moisture levels in both the subfloor and the wood to ensure the conditions are right before installing hardwood.
